Descendants of the Epoch of High Achievements: Winners of the 3rd French Language Olympiad Announced
The results of the 3rd French Language Olympiad, organized by Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, have been summed up. The competition, which was held with the aim of identifying youth with a broad outlook and bright talents, became a unique opportunity to test their talents among 11-12th form pupils of secondary schools of the country.
Talented pupils from all over the country were registered for the competition. In the first round of the Olympiad, participants demonstrated their creative thinking and writing skills by writing their own essays in French using a digital system. At this round, the works that met the standards of the French literary language and were rich in content and effective in their impact, were thoroughly analyzed by experts.
In order to further strengthen international cooperation in the competition and introduce best practices, Alfiya Gareyeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Romance-Germanic Languages and Methods of Teaching at the Naberezhnye Chelny State Pedagogical University, Russian Federation, also participated in the preparatory work and as a member of the jury. The exchange of experience between specialists from higher educational institutions ensured that the competition questions and module assignments met modern standards.
The second round of the Olympiad, held on April 4, 2026, became a real testing ground for the participants. The 25 pupils who achieved high results in the first round completed complex tasks on reading, listening and grammar in French on the institute's Digital Education Portal. During the allotted 90 minutes, the pupils demonstrated not only their theoretical knowledge, but also their ability to use the language in practice.
According to the overall results of the two rounds, Leyla Jumageldiyeva, a pupil of Ashgabat secondary school #43 named after the Hero of Turkmenistan S.A. Niyazov, won the Grand Prize. Ramina Gasanova, a pupil of Ashgabat secondary school #27, took 1st place, Bahar Atayeva, a pupil of the same school, and Ayperi Vepalyyeva, a pupil of Ashgabat secondary school #49, took 2nd place. Guncha Atajanova, a pupil of Mary secondary school #10, Kamilla Yusupova, a pupil of Dashoguz secondary school #10, and Bayramhan Chapau, a pupil of Ashgabat secondary school # 7, took 3rd place.
The winners were awarded with Diplomas and commemorative gifts from Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages. Also, teachers who made a great contribution to the development of talented youth were awarded Letters of Honor from the institute. This competition further increased the enthusiasm of youth for science and education, inspiring them to new heights and future achievements.
