STUDENTS MAJORING IN KOREAN UNDERGO PRACTICAL TRAINING IN THE REPUBLIC OF KOREA

Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages continues to expand its mutually beneficial cooperation with the leading educational and research institutions across the Asian region. To enhance the practical training of the young specialists studying foreign languages and broaden their academic and cultural outlook, the Institute is actively implementing new international educational initiatives. In this context, under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Science and Education between Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages and Kangwon National University, the students of the Institute have been sent to the Republic of Korea.

According to the official documents, from 29 June to 6 July, 2026, six students majoring in the Korean Language at the Faculty of the Oriental Languages and Literature, who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in both their academic studies and extracurricular activities, are undergoing practical training at Kangwon National University in the city of Chuncheon, Republic of Korea.

As a part of the program designed to improve Korean language proficiency, deepen students’ understanding of Korean culture, and develop their practical communication skills, the students of the Institute are attending intensive Korean conversation courses. These educational opportunities created through cooperation between the Turkmen and Korean sides will provide a solid foundation for integrating the digital educational resources of the two universities, organizing joint international conferences, enhancing the professional qualifications of faculty members, and advancing the field of Oriental studies to a new level.

Furthermore, cooperation through modern digital educational platforms enables students not only to gain valuable professional experience but also to become more closely acquainted with the rich cultural heritage of the East, as well as Korea’s national values and longstanding traditions. This innovative exchange of experience is expected to serve as an important milestone in developing joint educational programs and electronic teaching materials, integrating digital information systems, and strengthening scientific and creative ties between young researchers of the two countries.

Such high-level international cooperation not only contributes significantly to the professional development of students but also makes a substantial contribution to further strengthening the scientific, humanitarian, and friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
